Blessed Miguel Pro

$25.00

Blessed Miguel Pro (1891-1927) was a faithful and courageous priest falsely accused and targeted by the Mexican government. He was sentenced to death without trial, with his execution to be documented for propaganda. On that day, November 23rd, 1927, Padre Miguel blessed the soldiers who would take his life, knelt to pray, stood and refused the blindfold, stretched out his arms, and with his last words declared, “Viva Cristo Rey!” Blessed Miguel Pro is the patron saint of martyrs and those facing persecution. His feast day is November 23.

All of my portraits of saints original drawings were created with black Prismacolor pencils. This media choice was to insure a maximum contrast of black and white rather than the grey of graphite. The benefit is that all of my saint prints are the exact same size and contrast as the original drawing.
