St. Jose' Sanchez del Rio
St. Jose’ Sanchez del Rio (1913-1928) is the patron saint of children, adolescents, and persecuted Christians., Jose’ was martyred at the age of 14 for refusing to renounce his Catholic faith during the Cristero War in Mexico. Amidst this violent persecution, and like Blessed Miguel Pro who was martyred three months prior, St. Jose’s eyes remained fixed on heaven. His feast day is February 10.

All of my portraits of saints original drawings were created with black Prismacolor pencils. This media choice was to insure a maximum contrast of black and white rather than the grey of graphite. The benefit is that all of my saint prints are the exact same size and contrast as the original drawing.
