St. Rita

$25.00

St. Rita of Cascia (1386-1456) is the patron saint of hopeless cases, difficult marriages, and parenthood -- patronages that reflect the real circumstances of her life. In prayer, St. Rita received a stigmata, a wound of the crown of thorns, which remained unhealed on her forehead for years until her death on May 22, 1457. Her incorruptible body can be viewed in the Basilica of St. Rita in Cascia, Italy. Her feast day is May 22.

All of my portraits of saints original drawings were created with black Prismacolor pencils. This media choice was to insure a maximum contrast of black and white rather than the grey of graphite. The benefit is that all of my saint prints are the exact same size and contrast as the original drawing.
