St. Scholastica
St. Scholastica (480-543 AD) is the twin sister to St. Benedict and founder of a religious community for women in 6th century Italy not far from where her brother established the famous Benedictine monastery at Monte Cassino. She is the patron saint of monastic women, education, books, and convulsive children. Her feast day is February 10.

All of my portraits of saints original drawings were created with black Prismacolor pencils. This media choice was to insure a maximum contrast of black and white rather than the grey of graphite. The benefit is that all of my saint prints are the exact same size and contrast as the original drawing.
